We won’t have to wait long to know who will write the screenplay for the movie as SlashFilm reports that one of the writers for The Simpsons, Jon Vitti, has been chosen for the movie which would be released on the 1st of July 2016.

While it’s not really clear what a movie centered on Angry Birds would have to offer, development of the project is moving on as SONY is also said to have completed a deal to distribute the movie worldwide when the time comes.

In this new trailer, we get to see Wolverine take on a number of samurai’s after being offered the gift of mortality before an ultimate showdown with Silver Samurai at the end.

The movie which stars Jean Abbey and Ella Uche as two individuals who have to face a force beyond their wildest dreams was written, produced and directed by C.J. “Fiery” Obasi Co-produced by Oge Ugwu and Executive produced by Benjamin Stockton & Faruk Lasaki.

Despite being a low budget Nigerian film, Jim and Joan has managed to attract attention and garnered praise from a number of people for its style and for the young filmmaker’s “artistic effort” .

The latest animation from Afolayan is titled Slumber and was made available online 2 days ago. Slumber which is less than 2mins starts off with the narrator opening with “Alo O“, a way of beginning folktales/stories in Western Nigeria and then posing a riddle which he goes on to explain.

The clip whose animation was created by ArtleticWorks and created by Ropo Ewenla & Kunle Afolayan is short and straight to the point but it hits the mark in terms of delivery and visuals.

For people who grew up watching Storyland hosted and narrated by Jimi Solanke, this would certainly bring back memories which would put a smile on their face. And for those who tend to believe originality and ties to the western culture are going extinct, this is also something they would like to see.

GRRM whose novel collection A Song of Ice and Fire has made made him quite famous thanks to its HBO adaptation posted on his blog that despite the naysayers, he liked the movie. “Count me with those who loved it.” he said . “I think this is a great film.”AND a great and faithful adaptation of the novel, which is not necessarily the same thing.”

The author further went on to compare this new version to the one starring Robert Redford saying; “the Luhrmann film stands head and shoulders above the beautiful but curiously empty Robert Redford/ Mia Farrow version.”

Something interesting to note from GRRM’s post is that he takes his time to talk about the picture, the actors/performances and the dialogue which he didn’t mince words in praising. “Visually, this GATSBY is just amazing, something even its harshest critics have been forced to allow. (Though some of them do not like that)” He says.

While i haven’t seen the Luhrmann version but got to see one starring Robert Redford again recently, GRRM’s post is interesting and would definitely get some more people to go see the movie.

According to Times Live, while celebrating the completion of the film which is described as “not terrible” under 11days, South African actor- Eduan van Jaarsveld compared their achievement to that of movie producers in Nigeria saying “Anyone can make a shit film in 10 days. You get it in Nigeria where they churn out films and don’t pay anyone.”

Prior to the South African project which kicked off on the 1st of May, Indian film Sivappu Mazhai held the record for fastest film production with 11 days and 23 hours. However that record seems to have been broken by Shotgun Garfunkel which was completed after 10 days and some hours.

Shotgun Garfunkel premiered at The Bioscope in Johannesburg on Saturday night but it’s story might not end there as Nigerian’s, whom i might add love their home videos, might not ignore this backlash.

The new pictures gotten via CBM and Daily Mail provide a better view of the Silverhawks-type Robocop suit and his weapon which looks like something from the producers of SEGA.

The poster features Katniss keeping watch while standing on a mountain holding her bow and arrow with the clouds giving her some sort of wings (or maybe its just me seeing things). Either way, the last movie was on point in my opinion and this upcoming sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,  is expected to be even better.

The international trailer shows the birds singing their way to the stage which would make many people remember the Minions from Despicable Me and while the sequel of that one was expected, one can’t help but wonder if Rio 2 isn’t pushing it.

Rio 2 which stars Leslie Mann, Jemaine Clement, George Lopez, Jamie Foxx, will.i.am, Tracy Morgan, Andy Garcia, Bruno Mars will hit cinemas March 20, 2014.
