Beverly Hills Cop

Some time in September it was revealed that CBS was working on a TV adaptation of Eddie Murphy’s hit movie franchise- Beverly Hills Cop, which had Murphy playing wiseguy Detroit cop Axel Foley. The series would follow Axel Foley’s son Aaron a transplanted Detroit police officer now fighting crime in Beverly Hills, as he goes after criminals doing things his own way and trying to get out of his fathers shadows.

As to whether the series will get a green light  that is yet to be determined at this point.

All that is certain right now is that Shawn Ryan who created The Shield is bringing this to the screen for CBS and actor/standup comedian Brandon T Jackson (right) known for movies like Tropic Thunder & Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief has been confirmed to play the role of Aaron.

Eddie Murphy is expected to appear in the pilot episode of the series and depending on the reaction to it Murphy will reprise his role as Axel Foley in the series if CBS picks it up.

In case you’re one of the few out there who never got to see any of the Beverly Cop movies, check out the trailer for the movie with Eddie Murphy after the jump.
