The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has managed to break at least one record since its release on the 14th of December and that’s breaking the all-time US box office record for the month of December.

Prior to its release, the highest earner for December was 2007’s movie I Am Legend which raked in the sum of $77.2 million in its opening weekend however after earning $84.8 million in the first three days of its release the Peter Jackson flick is sitting comfortably on that spot.

The Hobbit is one of the top movies currently showing in cinemas at this time of the year and i’m sure it will manage to rake in more money than it already has worldwide (Over $200 million) that is till Django Unchained opens and people decided to leave Middle Earth for the Tarantino flick which is already snagging nominations and has got lots of people lined up to attend its premiere.
