‘Wanted’ Director, Timur Bekmambetov, Talks Of A Possible “Shocking” Sequel
With his new movie, Abraham Lincoln: The Vampire Hunter, due for release this week director Timur Bekmambetov has been busy making some stops here and there trying to get the press to hype the movie some more.
It was at this time that he had an interview with The Playlist where he got asked questions about a possible Wanted sequel which we’ve been hearing of for a while now.
Here’s what he had to say about it; “An unbelievable thing happened three weeks ago.” He said “Because we stopped, we didn’t know what to do for three or four years. Three weeks ago I came up with a great idea and I pitched this idea and everybody fell in love with it. And now I think we’re on track. Right now the writer is working on the script, and it will be shocking.”
Without giving much away he did help clarify how a sequel would work given the way the first one ended.
“It’s a continuation of the story, with Wesley Gibson. Other people are dead, you know, we can’t bring them back. The story is the same character, same mythology, but it’s got a great twist.”
What’s your take on this, should they bother with a sequel or just focus on other projects?
